Javin Peterson is the visionary behind Shepherd’s Gate Health, serving as its founder and Executive Director. His life story is one of perseverance, faith, and overcoming significant obstacles. From a young age, Javin faced health challenges that impacted his ability to walk, but he never let these deter him from his dreams. Javin attended the US Air Force Academy, excelling as a 3-time All-American and 2-time USA Gymnastics collegiate national Still Rings champion. He graduated in 2000 with a degree in Human Factors Engineering and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant. His military career is marked by over 600 combat hours and five Air Medals for excellence in Iraq and Afghanistan. Inspired by the debates surrounding the Affordable Care Act in 2010, Javin pursued a Masters in Health Administration from George Washington University, laying the foundation for Shepherd’s Gate Health. Under his leadership, the organization has partnered with community stakeholders to provide preventive healthcare to underserved communities.
